I’m trying to use xdoc in my project, but I am in trouble.
When starting the scene, the following error occurs.
Please let me know if you know how to deal with it.
UnityEditor.SerializedObject..ctor (UnityEngine.Object objs, UnityEngine.Object context) (at C:/buildslave/unity/build/artifacts/generated/common/editor/SerializedPropertyBindings.gen.cs:87)
UnityEditor.Editor.GetSerializedObjectInternal () (at C:/buildslave/unity/build/artifacts/generated/common/editor/EditorBindings.gen.cs:193)
UnityEditor.Editor.get_serializedObject () (at C:/buildslave/unity/build/artifacts/generated/common/editor/EditorBindings.gen.cs:185)
I am using Google translation because I am not good at English.
I’m sorry if the sentences are weird.
I did some research about this bug and this is an Unity bug. It has been already reported for different versions of Unity. Even though Unity closed the bug reports, the error keeps reappearing.
See these reports e.g.:
- https://answers.unity.com/questions/696790/nullreferenceexception-unityeditorserializedobject.html and
There are also related reports:
Where the answer is: “These are issues in the Unity editor and can be safely ignored. Restarting the Unity editor should remove the errors.”
As far as I understand, you just get the error message in the console. Your project still runs fine. In this case I would ask you too to ignore this error.
Please, feedback, if this is the case for you.
Thank you for investigating!
I do not mind about this error, I will use great xdoc.
There is also the possibility of upgrading to Unity 2017.
You are busy, but you helped me.
Thank you very much.
As a side note: I could recreate this bug without xDoc installed, and in a nearly empty project:
- Create an empty project
- Save the scene
- Add a Gameobject: GameObject -> UI -> Scroll View
- To the “Scroll View” object: Add the “Mask (Script)” Component
- Run the scene and the error appears.
The error appears for Unity 5.6.1f1. But with Unity 2017.1.0f3 it just runs fine. Therefore I haven’t reported it to Unity at the moment.
Thank you for your reply!
1) Unity 5.6.4 p 3 (64 bits)
2) existing project
3)It occasionally happened from time to time. It is the same project.
4)I get an error when I press play button.
If I press Play immediately after starting Unity, no error will be displayed, but if I press Play after working for a while it will result in an error.
